I have the flac plugin and yet i am unable to have Nero convert the files in order to create an audio CD. Is this poissible? Am I doing something wrong? Do I need an additional plugin for this action? Help!!!

I have the flac plugin by Mausau. It encodes into flac files and when the flac files are added to an Audio CD compilation they are accepted into the compilation - converted to Audio CD format.

I suggest you check you have a flac encoder and decoder listed in the Audio Format Settings window, which lists your encoders, decoders and converters that are loaded.

You didn't mention what version of Burning ROM you are using?
Are you trying to convert flac files to make an Audio CD or make a disk compilation of flac files to play on the PC?

I'm trying to make an audio CD not a data CD. It is version 7 of Nero. The plugin you listed is installed along with another; yet they do not show up in the plugins page within the program. It shows neither the encoder or the decoder for flac. I went to the directory where the plugins are supposed to be and the plugins are there. I'm soooooooo confused.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\AudioPlugins\nxMyFLA.dll is where my flac and other encoders reside. This is after unzipping the files into this directory.

Do other processed sources convert to create an Audio CD. For example, if you have another encoder - maybe LAME for MP3 , can you successfully add an MP3 track to the Audio CD compilation and it is accepted and converted?

Can you even add .wav files to make an Audio CD?

Has this version 7 installation been working with Audio CD or other applications in the past, or is this a new install that is not working?

All other conversions work fine and show up in the encoder and decoder lists in settings.

hmmm.

You have the flac file, it's in the correct directory, it doesn't show up in the encoder/decoder lists, but others do (and work).

Sounds like Nero has had a problem with recognising the flac dll.
My nxMyFLA.dll is v1.0.0.33.

Can you download the flac zip file again and start afresh?
This is long winded and may not be needed, but suggest you don't have Nero running, delete the nxMyFLA.dll file, start Burning ROM, close burning ROM and don't have Nero running(or other programs active), unzip nxMyFLA.dll into
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\AudioPlugins
Start Nero and see if the encoder/decoder are present.

Just had another digest of your previous posts...

Does this indicate you have 2 flac encoders or 2 encoders of different function that are not appearing?

I would delete the "another" plugin and try to get the flac dll going.
