Hi, let me explain what I want:

I have a laptop with a 802.11g wireless card and a wired ethernet card. I currently have a WPA wireless network, and windows xp. What I want to be able to do is to take the internet from the wired card and create a WEP network with the wireless card. Is it possible to do this?

How do I create a wep wireless network so the ds lite can connect to it through my laptop? Please give a detailed explanation as I am quite stupid with computers.

I tried creating an ad hoc wireless network but the ds lite gets error code 51300 or 5130 (forgot if there was an extra zero or no) and it does not work, I think i did something wrong.

Anybody want to buy passcard 3s? I have a bunch I imported. I can beat any price on the internet (must include shipping). Right now the lowest price I have seen is $35 shipped so I can do $33. Will be probably be about a month before you get it.

why dont you change your computer to have WEP instead of WPA so it will work.
its pointless to connect with your laptop if you can connect with your computer.

As kacajblue said, your much better off just setting your network to use WEP, if your concerne about security enable MAC filtering aswell, setting your laptop to use WEP and then connecting it to your PC is like opening a backdoor for any potential hacker anyway, safer just to redo the whole network to WEP+MAC filtering.

Or if you feel unsafe doing even that, you could always waste your money on a Nintendo USB Wifi Adapter, which won't function as a proper access point (so no chance of hackers) unless you willingly hack it youself to do so.

the Nintendo Wifi USB Connector is useful to me because i only use it when ever i need to. and i dont have to worry about a connection someone can steal and other problems like that.

with mac filtering it makes it extremely hard to crack a connection. it can still be cracked, but its harder.

another way to secure it is to disabled broadcasting of your SSID. The downfall to that is you'll have to know exactly what it is to be able to connect to it, but if you want security you have to give up luxury

you can do all of that with the "hacked" Nintendo Wifi USB Connector. but i dont even bother because the connection isnt very strong and is impossible to steal unless you are hella close to the USB stick.
