Hi, I can't copy a copied DVD. When I copy from an original, I use DVD Shrink and then Nero to burn. Everything from there is fine. But if I try to copy that copied DVD, DVD Shrink can't even read the disc. I have no idea why this is so. Can someone please help me?

Hi,

All you need to do is use DVD Decrypter.

DVDD http://filehippo.com/download_dvd_decrypter/

All you have to do is ISO read then ISO write.

I tried DVD Decrypter and that doesn't work either. An error message pops up while it's trying to write it. It will say that this VOB file can't be read and it gives you an option to abort or retry. When I choose retry, it doesn't work so I usually just abort. Sigh...this is driving me crazy! :(

Try cleaning the disks, it sounds like the disk is sratched or dirty.
also this can happen when u use low quality media and over time the data on the media cant be read.
What media is the copyed dvd on.

u can also try dvdFab decrypter to try and rip.

I use HP and Memorex DVD-R to copy the DVDs.

DVDFab does work to copy a copied DVD but it would literally take 22 hours to copy it. I have no idea why this is so b/c if I used it to copy an original DVD, the copy process is less than 30 minutes.

When you said that I should clean the discs, do you also mean the burner too?

These discs don't come highly recommended, in the future try Verbatim.

DVDFab is struggling with ripping non-compliant discs and may be inserting dummy sectors when it comes across an unrippable cell. Have you checked the new burn to see if it play correctly?

Wouldn't hurt.

Also, if you use Imgburn for the burning of your discs try the verify function. If the verification fails it will be an indication of the ability to rerip in the future.

HP and Memorex disks are the worst to use because of what you're going through now! Reripping from a copied disk will show how good your media is! And Memorex is called MemoSux around here. That's why using good media to begin with is very important and stops plenty of problems while trying to burn and trying to read that disk in the future. here is a media guide for you that will tell you what's good and what's crap:
http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
this guide is just that..... a guide to show you what's out there. I can sum it up for you: The MIJ(Made-In-Japan) disks are the best. Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim (also top notch and made in Taiwan/MIJ/Singapore) Sony, Maxell, Fuji......just remember MIJ and look on the lable of the spindle to be sure before you buy. then you shouldn't have problems like copy from a copy won't copy!!!!!

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I went out and bought a pack of Verbatims when I read the post. Hopefully, I won't have this error anymore. Hehe...if I do, I know you guys will hear from me again. =P
