No audio on dvd when played back thro player.

I have converted and burned to movies to dvd, i have used vso convert to dixv version 2, which converts then burns. I dont usually get problems but when i played them back thro my standalone player and my ps2 I get no sound, but i get sound when played in my dvd drive on pc thro windows media player...any ideas how to fix this? Is it cos i got codecs installed on pc? Can i reconvert them and get sound..i have other conversion programs to try... Thanx.
