fp!

Just ordered a DS lite.

With so many options available to us, I am at my wits end.

Please help! Do I get:

a)M3 Lite
b)EZ4 Lite Deluxe
c)or wait for the SuperCard Rumbler?

also, going through all the posts, the consensus is that Passcard 3 is the way to go?

thanks for all the help,
stile

The passcard 3 is the way to go, only if you get the m3. As its best to keep the brands the same, and the passcard 3 is really meant to go with the m3.. In my opinion, the best bet would be to go with m3 and passcard 3, if you have the money for it... as it uses external memory cards too, so you have basically an unlimited amount of space, as long as you have teh cards for it. The m3 lite would use SD micro cards, which are cheap as hell on newegg.com... I believe a 1 gig micro sd goes for around 20$.. whereas if you got one of the other cards, like the supercard 4 gb, it would really only be 512 megabytes of storage space, so a 1 gig micro sd card would actuall yhave twice the memory, or 8 gigabits.

also, sorry I didnt put this in the first post, however the m3 lite has the best support for both DS and GBA games, whereas I was reading on the rumbler card yesterday, and it says they will have no support for GBA games. So if you are wanting to play both DS and gba games, the m3 is also your best bet there.

You're thinking of the G6 Lite. Supercards all use removable media, as does the EZIV line-up. However, I will say that M3 supports FAT32 whereas EZIV uses FAT16, so M3 can have twice the storage space. FAT16 is limited to 2GB, whereas FAT32 can allow for much more space (125 GB with scandisk enabled, 2 terabytes without). So basically, M3 has the potential of more storage. Can't say for Supercard, since I don't remember what format the SD cards have to be in. I'm sure pakixd knows though.

Anyway, the M3 Lite alongside a Passcard3 is the best option, but the EZIV Lite Deluxe works great as well. Read my EZIV guide for a bit more info on it if you like. Supercard should work well enough, and since the rumble version lacks GBA support, you don't have to worry about slowdown in GBA games.

Thanks goes out to theridges for the userbars :)

Thank you very much DraTs and Venom5880.

With your blessings, I will purchase the M3 Lite + Passcard 3.

Take a look at mr hanky's M3 guide so you'll be completely ready to use it once you have it.

Enjoy your M3 :)

You're thinking about miniSD. MicroSD is still somewhat expensive at this time.. roughly $50 for a 1gigabyte stick

As far as Supercard's format, I believe it also uses FAT16. I remember reading somewhere about a guy who took the miniSD he used in his M3 and stuck it into his Supercard miniSD and it didn't work.. said it wasnt FAT format (though it clearly was :))

Meh, ok so I screwed up on two things, still tho the m3 was the most compatible lol. At walmart, they have a 512 meg micro sd with the adapter for regular sd, for 20$, at least at my local one. I dont remember if it was a sale, or a markdown though. But, according to my calculations, depending on which games you put, on average a 1 gig sd card, could hold about 20 DS games. I've actually yet to fill my 1 gig card up yet, so thats debateable, as I said it depends on what games, and their sizes, etc. I actually half filled my card with 10 games, so thats where the assumption of 20 comes in.

@Drats
All the retail stores around here charge double of what can be found online, so for a miniSD of 512MB it'd be about $40, and that's without an adapter. For 1GB miniSD, we're talking around $50-$60. Which is exactly why I always recommend Newegg over local retailers. Even after shipping, it's still around $20+ cheaper.

@wh03lse
The M3 Perfect will work with those, but only in GBA mode. Unless you plan on getting a DS later on, I wouldn't buy an M3 as there are far cheaper alternatives that only have GBA support.

Actually i'm not sure if the Lite version of the M3 works with GBA consoles as it won't fit, if it comes with a replacement GBA size case (like the G6) it will work fine though.

Can someone confirm wether the M3 lite ships with a replacement full size GBA case?

I didn't even notice the "lite" part in his message... Thought he was just talking about the normal M3 Perfect line-up.

Oops.

Well, I had already suggested newegg, I was just saying that the price was at walmart here, so I assumed lower on newegg, thats all.

In other news, its a shame this guy isnt the well known stile on the net lol.
