Does anyone know how to beat Renji in the story mode? Everytime, I hit his hp down to nothing, then his hp bar turns red, and he won't die. o.O

I've tried using combos to see if they'll work, but nothing seems to work.

Mission #1: Nice to meet you, I will beat you
Battle: Kurosaki Ichigo vs. Arabai Renji
Description: You have little strength remaining, beat the enemy
Clear: Beat Renji
Note: You have one life bar, while Renji has two

Mission #4: Cause For Confront
Battle: Kurosaki Ichigo (Shikai) vs. Arabai Renji
Description: You can't beat the opponent without "Kakugo"
Clear: Beat Renji when in the "Kakugo" mode (square, triangle when lifebar is flashing red)
Special Condition: Beat this mission with more spiritual gauge than your opponent to unlock mission #5
