Hi,
I've just purchased a Psp with Firmware version 1.5 from ebay. The problem is when i turn it on it says you need to update your Psp to continue, I can bypass the message a boot games from the memory stick using fastloader.
How can i get rid of this message without updating, because i take it if i update it i wont be able to play games from memory stick no more.
Thanks for your time.....

the same happens to me but beause i start the psp with the umd inside a umd that came with the psp and includes the upgrade and to play the videos needs to upgrade to 2.0
you have to keep the firmware 1.5 to use loaders but fastloader only works with the first games you should start using device hook 0.46

Hi wiidiot,
I dont quite understand you, do you me if i update to firmware v.2.0
i can play videos yeah, but does that mean i wont be able to run any games from my memory stick? the reason i brought this Psp was to play games solely from the memory stick thats why i dont know what to do about the message...
TIA

Alright listen, do not upgrade to anything. Head of to our friends at google, and search for Devhook .46 ultimate installer. Devhook will allow you to play all the games you want to from your memstick. I know you will be back asking questions about how to use devhook, but first go install it, aigggggggghhhhhht.

ok let me try to clear every thing up a 1.5 is a blessing to just get with out having to downgrade lol
the reason it wants you to upgrade is beacause the game needs a higher firmwire such as 1.51 and up but the last thing you wanna do is upgrade since you will no longer be able to use hombrew such as fastloader and what not
just download devhook it installs every thing for you just chose what drive the psp is connected to and layback and wait till its done here's the link
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/673
also read this might clear up some questions you have about hombrew

you welcome and oh yeah the fact that you have a 2gb card is perfect that what im useing right now too and also if you wanna convert movies for the psp use 3gp converter its free
http://www.nurs.or.jp/~calcium/3gpp/
just chose inglish the pick an option that should say mp4 for psp (direct, renamed) that way the program names the file and makes the icon then all you have to do is past the movie to the psp
if you dont already have it make a folder called MP_ROOT and inside that folder create another folder named 100MNV01 thats the folder where you want to put the video's
4get psp's im on dat 360 now cha dig!!

hi mrblack70
i didn't want to confuse you
i think that you were starting the psp with a umd inserted and to run that umd it requires a firmware upgrade thats why the message shows up
do what lilfree22 is saying and it should be fine
