Nero 7 Uing 100% Processes in all applications

After recently updating to Nero 7.2.7.0 I noticed that when any of the applications are running they are using 98-100% of my processor. I remember having this same issue with Nero 6 and somehow fixed it but I don't remember how I did it. Can anyone help me out with a quick fix?

Did you clean out the remnants of prior versions of Nero using the Clean Tools? The tools are at the Nero site, separate versions for Nero 6 and Nero 7 removal. Then try reinstalling from scratch, making note of your registration key.

-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.

Yes I used all of the clean tools and reinstalled to no avail. any other options?

Google "100% CPU Utilization", you will find several possible solutions via Microsoft.

What version of Nero 7 do you have also - becos they're are a few unstable versions...

EDIT: Nero 7.0.8.2 is the MOST stable verison...found here...

Also I just use Version 6 cos it's much more stable and doesn't fill your PC up with all the extra crap it comes with. And then I d/l'ed Info Tool and all the other worthwhile tools that come with Nero 7 from Afterdawn. I recommened this as a new Nero setup...

Had a problem with StartSmart hanging with 99%CPU usage, but the applications themselves were OK.

Can you post the taskname(s) from Task Manager that are running 98-100% ?

Do you have Scout enabled?
