Right i downloaded gangs of london iso and it has automatically turned itself into a wnrar file. I got told that this was normal but i cant even compress it, or even use a ripkit. I would give u a image of what i mean but I dont know how lol
plez help i trad on my gol umd and it broke so i am desperate to get the iso up and running
help will be appreciated

u eather need 2 extract the win rar file. or u need 2 get a new iso. if u can tell me wat site u got it from i could tell u if i can help anymore

torrentspy i think but WinRAR auto turns them into WinRAR files they used to be iso images, u know the one with the disc icon.

right u wont be able to compress it if its a WinRAR file (which is reli anying cuz i have a few of those) the only way you would b able to do it is if u sumow mange to get the file out of the WinRAR which would be very hard. or you would have to download it again.

have u tried re extracting it? and also you cxn still play the game just out the rar file in the iso folder in the root of your memory stick

iv been through this process before if i convert it with umdgen then it goes back to the iso file wich is still a WinRAR and is still 1gb!
maybe if i uninstall WinRAR and install it agen wud tht work?

yeah then just drag the rar file into iso on your memory stick unless you want to make it smaller?

u dont need to unistall it its just a configuration thing you need to get into the WinRAR settings and altar some of them so it doesnt automayticaly make an iso a rar file

A few people seem to be having similar problems lately, including myself.

I just got the latest WinRAR, and when I went to extract a .rar file containing an iso, it seemed to extract ok but when it was finished extracting, I couldn't see an iso icon anywhere???

So I had a good look at all the .rar files and there was one with .iso at the end.

That was actually the extracted iso.

I was used to seeing a disc icon for an iso and not a .rar icon.

The latest version of WinRAR seems to be doing this for some reason.

You can go to explorer/tools and folder options to change the icon but the easiest thing to do is just download something like power iso and when thats installed you'll see your extracted iso in the more familiar icon of a disc.
