Owell too late but you could have tried to set your boot disk priorty in the bios to 1st as your cd drive then botted the windows disk before your windows actually started this would work if it was a virus,

What should I tell him?
Well yeah tell him that just point out that its not recongnizing them otherwise he might fix it plus say you need like new parts when you dont but dont worry about that if its a guy you have gone to before and trust.
