The First "tough one" was Resident Evil. Anyone remember that one?

n3wbi3, use the latest verison of AnyDVD with CloneDVD 2 instead of using DVD Shrink . DVD Shrink will have problems with newer movies even with AnyDVD running in the background where CloneDVD 2 with AnyDVD won't. use this guide

I know this isn't really on subject, but it will be interesting to see what the Blueray protection will be, someone told me (I don't know how true it is) that the protection takes up some 5gb of space on the disc (I know that sounds far fetched, so I would take it with a grain of salt).

i had a movie one time that gave me constant headaches cause it wouldnt let me back it up after continuous attempts.i believe it was the commitments special edition.i would run it through shrink alone and shrink would analyze it fine, and it would rip it until %99 and i would get an error everytime.then i ran it through decrypter,no problems, then ran it through shrink, same thing %99 then error.tried dvdfab, ripped fine, then tried again to run through shrink, same results.aquired AnyDVD same results.so then i did the <--- ---> thing in shrink and ended it halfway through end credits cause that seemed to be the spot it kept freezin and givin me errors, then i was able to back it up successfully.

ok...... As of today I haven't come across 1 DVD that couldn't be ripped....... but that doesn't mean I never had problems! I first started out about 4 yrs ago or so with the famous DVDXCopy and did some DVDs just fine. Then all of a sudden after months of happy burning new protection came out and 321 Studios was not around for an update! So I had to resolve to breaking down the rip to it's Audio and Video and use seperate programs to encode the movie to a smaller output! To this day I forget what programs were used. I got all my information from Doom9.net but they were too technical for this newbie at the time (around 2001 or 2), but I trudged along and taught myself through trial and error when it took 3-4 hours to do a movie.... and that was just ripping it and encoding it! I had a smaller computer that was at best minimum requirements to do a DVD! After many errors and 321 Studios went out of business, so XCopy wasn't working on newer DVDs..... I went out and bought a newer computer to do DVDs and found Afterdawn........ and boy did everythign take off! With the friendly advise of memebers of Afterdawn I now have programs galore to do anything I want to a DVD and no DVD made now can not be copied! AnyDVD+CloneDVD2 has revolutionized the production of the fast copy! It only takes me from 12mins to 25mins (my longest time) to rip/transcode/burn a DVD copy. But for better quality for those long movies it's DVDRebuilder Pro with CCE/ProCoder for me (which takes much longer but well worth it!) soooooooo there ya have it....... there is no DVD out today that can not be copied..... they all can!

Hi Guys. I'm trying to backup Inside Man for the last 2 days. No success. Tried DVD Shrink, DVD decryptor, DVD fab decryptor and Any DVD. Same story. Appreciate if you can pass on some tips how to back up this one.

Regards

first off...... don't hide in an old thread......... start a new thread to get better results.... luckily I didn't UNSUBSCRIBE from this thread and noticed you asking a new question to an old thread!

AnyDVD and DVDDecrypter (together) should have had no problem riping this movie to the hard drive! or you could us DVDFab Decrypter and that would have ripped to the hard drive too........ just make sure that the programs are up to date versions! If you have having problems with this DVD then what is going on? what's the error that you are getting?

Not a one. I agree with the rest; copy everything I own. You, might have to try different programs/some time updates.

we UK guys/gals are better off i guess; films usually come out here much later than (for instance) the USA, so programs such as AnyDVD/DVDFab Decrypter etc are usually already up to date for the latest movies

I originally had big troubles with the cave, I think I only got like half hour of it... I know that it my lack of knowledge that allowed it to give me the headaches it did, but I agree with IHOE, because of Afterdawn I am confident that if I attempt to back it up again, I'll not have the same problems.

i would have to i have had no problems at all backing up any movie, but i rember a few years ago i got the Exorcist, The: The Version You've Never Seen (DVD) this movie would not copy or play i tryed twenty different dvd players, dvd rom would not see it nothing at all, the only thing i could think of it was a bad press so we sent the movie back to the warehouse, and we told them to send us a good working copy, and the funny thing was all of the ones that they had were no good, but that was the only one that i could not get to copy.

Un-Copyable NEVER...temporary problems is all...I don't think their will ever be an encryption that can't be eventually beat...

Most Movies are beat before official release...thanks to all the people who send the files in advance to the software developers.

"Lords of Dogtown" was the closest I came to not breaking pre-release...
Forgot about "When a Stranger Calls"...I still think $ony put a rootkit in that movie.
