1. most problems are causes by poor quality drives/burners (box systems) with out of date firmware.

2. bad/scratched dvds

I once had problems with backing up farscape dvds, I was using DVD Shrink to decrypt. DVDfab decrypter took care of it. Untill this time I have not come across any dvds which cannot be decrypted. What about Blu-ray and HD-DVD has anyone had any luck decrypting them?

Fun with Dick & Jane is a pussy cat - just rolls over and wants to play - DVD Shrink with AnyDVD running in background - no problems

I guess I'll chime in as well... Not a movie that I couldn't backup yet!!! I have and use AnyDVD, CloneDVD2, Recode2, DVDFab Decrypter, DVDDecrypter, DVDShrink, RipIt4Me, DVD Rebuiler Pro, CCE, and ProCoder. The newbs to DVD backups today don't have to buy a thing for the average DVD. RipIt4Me will beat anything out there!!! I love the convenience/speed of the SlySoft bundle for movies with little to no compression. RipIt4Me for the bigger ones that don't wanna play well with AnyDVD and Recode2. For the long movies that require high compression: Ripit4Me or AnyDVD/DVDDecrypter then DVDRebuilder Pro w/CCE- OUTSTANDING quality! Actually, my ProCoder is gathering dust. CCE's speed is just amazing. Especially with this new rig I got! 2 1/2 hour movie with 3 passes in a little over an hour...
