1st off i want to say that i didnt touch the drive after i bought it
(meaning that i didnt firmware upgrade it)

the problem is as follows:

When reading or burning or doing something that is related with the optical drives.
I have a dvd nec dvdrw drive and an samsung cdrw drive, they both make the problem accour - stutering. now i have this problem since forever. the thing is when i open the processes tab there are no programs that are using any unusual amount of memory or cpu power. its just like something phantom. still i cant burn without it killing my comp. the sound is stuttering when i play mp3's. the mouse moves slow and with huge delay. when i try to burn using Nero and DVD Decrypter the drive wont go faster then X2!! i am using advanced azo verbatim mcc X16 sertified. one of the best disks out there. and still cant make this work! plz tell me what the problem might be. also, the burn is never smooth. the buffer levels run apes up and down ranging from 14% to 99% and in between. thanks for help :)

This forum just gotta help :P

Hi glad to hear it! I would have been around to guide you through but I got caught up in sumin else. To test you can just burn disks, and if they are good burns then you know it's right.

Send the cheque to:
