Hey everyone, i'm new here.

Basically, My copy of Xenogears 2 stopped working over the weekend, so I rented a copy out from blockbusters and tried to make a backup of it. The first disc burned fine, but when it came to the second, about 19% of the way through it had a disc read error. I tried cleaning it but it didn't make much of a difference. So I took the game back to blockbusters and said it wasn't working on my ps2 ;). they only had one other copy so they gave me that. So I took it home, tried burning it, and what do ya know, it had a disc error around 45% of the way through, which is just my luck.

Anyways, what I forgot to mention is with the first copy I had when I rented the game, I extracted all the files that I could off the disc, which was every file except for one, called XENOSAGA.01. So I managed to get that missing file off the copy I swapped the original copy for at blockbusters. So what I am asking is would it be possible to make an image file of all the files? I know you can do this but I'm not sure whether it would work from files off two different discs.

Sorry for the long post, I hope this makes sense cuz I would be so grateful if someone could help me out.

Why are you copying the files to your hard drive?
Just use DVDecrypter to make an iso disc image of each disc, then burn the image file to a blank dvd.
You're just making things dificult for yourself.

yep the the trougle with rented discs they are always in a bad state so you always get errors try using alchol 120 and turn off error report it may run past it other wise you are pretty much screwed as there is nope one single bit of dummy space on that game you could hope to bypass

you could try extrating use iso buster or something like that and hopeing its only a small single file that the disk is damage on and you could try and skip it then hope to god you dont need that file

Well the only file that was missing was XENOSAGA.01, which is 1gb in total, but I have got that file off another copy of the game, so I have all the files off the game, I just need to make it into an image file.

thanks for the info boobooman, I really appreciate it.
I'm pretty sure this is the right order for the files, but just to make sure:

IOP
OVO1.OVL
OVO2.OVL
SCES_820.35
SYSTEM
XENOSAGA.00
XENOSAGA.01
XENOSAGA.02
XENOSAGA.20
XENOSAGA.21
XENOSAGA.22
XENOSAGA.23
XENOSAGA.24

is that correct?

Once again many thanks.

Use Burning ROM, and select DVD > ISO/UDF
To find out the correct file order, put the disc into your PCs' DVD Drive, open IsoBuster, make sure it's set on your drive & you can see the files/folders. Right click the red iso tab, and choose to make a filelist in a txt file (relative).
Open that text file, and you'll see all the files, listed with their LBA beside the filenames. You may have to re-order them, as it doesnt always put them in the correct numeric order.
