well i do see that you do seem to have a problem with your physical memory.

Quote:
Physical memory : 494MB (506600kB)
Free physical memory: 98MB (100772kB)
Even 157mb from one of your other burns isnt enough to burn squat. You need to turn every application that is not neccessary to the running of your pc off. This means that you cant surf the net, play music, or really do anything while the burning process is being enacted.Your computer is struggling to perform the burn sequence and thus you are getting errors as the flow of imformation from pc to burner to disc is getting interrupted and thus cant complete.

A simple solution would be to increase your ram to 1024.If that doesnt fix the problem there must be another as you have amble room on the disc to burn to.

Quote:
Last possible write address on media: 2298495 (510:46.45, 4489MB)
Last address to be written: 844495 (187:39.70, 1649MB)

Try the increase in ram or shut down the apps you dont need to see if you can free up the physical memory and then do another burn.Post the log if it fails again so we can see the outcome

Just wondering, are you trying to burn a Video DVD, or a data DVD? You are using a Nero's backup tool, which is intented to back up your computer's system data onto DVD discs. It has nothing to do with video; you would start Nero Burning ROM and use the DVD-Video template for that.

In any case, this problem is more likely the media you are using, though it could be a hardware problem. You can rule out media by using good-quality discs (as I always say, use discs that say Made in Japan on the label, and check that each time you buy. Verbatim is the sole exception and is also good.) Your log does not mention the MID (Media ID code) that all discs carry, which makes me wonder if this isn't a hardware failure.

In any case, try my advice on media if you haven't already - don't use DLs right now - and let me know whether it solves your troubles.

Edit: Guyrus made a good catch noticing the VM problem. Check that out too although the thing about media quality always holds true.

-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.
