What is the Final Fantasy XII Beta?

There is a Final Fantasy XII beta (USA version) floating around the internet. I realize recently there was a convention that supposedly held a 'fully playable' version of FFXII so my best guess would be this is it.
I do not condone downloading it because that would be illegal, though it still has struck my curiosity as to whether or not it is the entire game.
If anyone has any information on that I would be most appreciative.

I have it and I do condone downloading... hehe.. Yeah its the working version soon to be released... The differance is the actuall date of release and maybe a very small and point less scences......I like it though...

I'm getting it right now too, will post up later when I play. I want the real version, and I will buy it, but its cool to tell all my pals I have this a month early.
I cover my bases...

It ought to, its the USA release. I haven't played but pretty sure it does.

Its not a BETA, read the nfo. It is the FULL game, and was leaked from Square.

its released end of the month but the beta/final/full what ever you want to call it works just fine got it days ago

Ok for those that havent played it yet...
Its all English.. Subs and Voices.. I have never been big on all the extra story lines.. But this one has seem to caught my attention.... It has sort of a mixture of FFVII and FFX... For those that seem to not under too much about game play, it has excellent tutorials. The story line seems a little unique than most of the last few FF, it seems to go more in detail and better descriptive. It has some extra little things to it, like being hired as a bounty hunter to kill off Moster Bosses for money. The actual fighting is cool... it has a sorta Zelda style to it... Monster lurk about and you dont go into that whole "you hit, I hit,You hit,I hit" crap.. More or less, you see an enemy and go at him and bascially command your character to perform attacks..
Well thats bout it so far... I work alot so most of my free evenings I try to get a couple hours in on it, but from an overall perspective, I thinks its the best since FF7...... I=

oh yeah once again, its not BETA... its the Full game leaked out....... I seriously doubt that at this point in the time its about to be released that they would still be working on a "beta"...

yes its very good but as far as ive played it cant be compeard to vii imo story is a little slow but like you said has loads of side quests and i really like the lisenes system its abit the the sperce grid

How many players do you control? Final Fantasy Where always turn base fight. If you say the figthing is like zelda then are you alone?

the fighting is like kingdom hearts... and you cannot change the view from inverted to normal... so i played it for like 10 minutes and put it down... what a waste.. if the full version doesn't have the option to change the camera settings im not even gonna bother with it...

yeah what ever this version is it certain wont have any major changes if you on like the cam angle all i can say is tough but think you self lucky you got to try be for you buy

For sure....it a Final Fantasy game and even if the camera angle are no good I will still play it. I played the 2 worse one they made so the camera angle wont really mather to me.(the worse one where 8 and X-2)

Quick question, Swapmagic v3.6 says "Not a valid PS2 Disk". 2 copies of it say that. Something else I need to do to get this thing running?
If not, thank god I have it preordered :-/

Come on dude! it took me 5 minutes to get used to the camera controls, are you seriously going to miss out on a game for such a trivial reason ?!?

swap magic works just fine with it i know ive cooked up 50hr already its a great game once you get the hang of the cam and the story speeds up
what media are you using?
