Anyone having trouble with this program? I am trying to copy a simple DVD (Forest Gump) a rather older movies and it keeps giving me an error message that it won't copy one of the files in the sector and won't go any further. Could someone please help me with this.

Thanks,
cat

Hi cathy3811
Sounds like the disc is scratched or dirty. Try cleaning it off.
You can try ripping w/ the ripper in AnyDVD.

Imho Decrypter is usually the best for these type of discs. Try ripping w/ that than you can open those files is CloneDVD.
decrypter

I am not sure how to do that..I have always burned straight from the copy DVD. I am trying to burn from Nero right now...to see if it will burn from there. So far so good. And yes it has a good scratch on it!

Ok if that doesn't work - just post back. Ripping w/ decrypter is easy - can walk you thru it or find a guide.

Depending on how bad the scratch may not be able to back it up. Try and buff it out w/ something non abrasive.

Here's a guide for hard to rip dvd's w/ decrypter. You do not need to have AnyDVD running. Turn it off actually.
http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/petesguide9.html

Once the files are ripped just use Clone and instead of picking the drive for the files pick the video_ts folder where you saved them.

If you use iso mode in decrypter to get this ripped then use 'write existing data' and pick iso/udf option in Clone. You open the iso file.

Give that a go.

Try DVDFAB Decrypter, DVDFAB seems to handle few scratches better than any other programs. Here http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

Good luck.
