My old 1.5 broke.

I have heard you can not downgrade a brand new psp. Is that true?

Also I was thinking I can update to 2.71, then use the 2.71 downgrader. Will that work?

I already have both downgraders. And yes I have downgraded befor. I have the 2.5/2.6 dowgrader and the og GTA. I also have the 2.71 downgrader that does not use GTA

if it's a TA-082 then you can't downgrade, if it's is a TA-082 and a 2.71 u can emulate 1.5......if it's a 2.8 or 2.81 ur screwed atm.

Im pretty sure it wont be a ta-082(if it is I will return it)

So its ok to downgrade if I go to the store and get a brand new 2.6? and its not a ta-082.

ok, for some reason someone told me it had to be a 2.6 updated from a 2.0. And that a original 2.6 cant be downgraded. Does that make sense?

Thanx for your help guys

Flowfast, you can downgrade the PSP as long it is NOT a TA-082 Motherboard or 2.80/2.81

BTW Does anyone know what firmware version it will be out of the box? I'm all good if its a 2.6 or 2.71. It shouldn't be a 2.8 right?

increase your luck by asking for the one that's been there the longest (don't buy entertainment packs or core packs)

you actually could downgrade factory 2.5/2.6 with the GTA method. That was just sorta a disclaimer as almost all factory 2.5/2.6 psp as TA-082
