hey,

just seeing if anyone can help me figure out what kind of motherboard i have in my pc. (a HP D530c). it has a 2.4ghz intel and i want to upgrade it as i can see it is the reason making my computer slow. i have 1gb ram and a new raptor just installed. please let me know.

theres a application call cpu-z you can run this without install very easy gives you general info like procesor tech spec,memory,chipset and mobo if supported :

ok.. i found out that its a hewlett packard 085ch motherboard with an intel socket 478 processor. being that the current processor is 2.4ghz, does anyone have any advice on upgrading the processor and which ones would be compatible. thanks

i think that would be about the best you can get for that board but any cpu that is socket 478 should work.
you might want to get a new heat sink fan as they run hot

you might get a more noticeable performance boost by getting more ram
