If you look around here you'll see an inordinate amount of time is spent on copying and the various techniques used to do it. No matter what you do folks will be able to copy your disc if so inclined.

There is no way to do it have have your discs work in players. You can password-protect or GPG-encrypt your data, but recipients will have to decrypt the data to their computers, which is a big, big hassle. And if they are careless with various security settings, now that your stuff is on their hard drive, the decrypted data is available to the world.

-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.

Sony, ArcosS, Macrovision, Puppetlock etc. can't stop people breaking encryptions, what makes you think that you can? The best method would be to buy some el cheapo blanks, burn them at maximum speed while multitasking and then apply a paper adhesive label to the finished product.

Good Luck.

Yeah, that would stop copying.... CMC MAG DVD-R from about 2 years ago seem to work the best for this. They are not the worst DVD-R, but they are close and easy to find good amounts.

There seems to be lots of requests for copy protection now. I wonder if I should pursue my copy protection further and maybe sell it to people. I already made sure it is not full proof, but I made it better than ARccOS and Ripguard (in my opinion at least...).

@jaguargod

If I pass you Sony's telephone number along, you have to promise to split your riches with me when all the big companies start buying up your product. LOL
