ok i donw loaded the 2.7 to 1.5 and it say go to the photo meum and it will turn red well mine does not it frezz up on me and i have to turn it off after that to do anything. I have it pluged up to the charger and stuff but nothing after that and i took the battery out and the same thing. what should i do???

try using the easy downgrader it copies all files for you to make sure theyre all in the right place plus it walks u thru it step by step on-screen on ur pc.

if ur sure u have them in the right place then keep doing it the way your doing it. keep running it over and over until u see the red screen and can see the memstick flashing. the devs that created this exploit stated its not very stable and it wont run but maybe 1 in every ten tries. some users have reported it not working for 20+ tries. are you also sure u dont have a ta-082 motherboard.

thanls so much I now have a 1.5 Im so happy but i read that i should now up grade to a 2.0 or emulate to a 2.0 now that its a 1.5 that means i can use any of the emulators right. is there some where special that I store them and the games that i down load to they go in that floder to... I just want to make sure I have everything right..

if u get the disc cannot be read error then upgrade to 2.0 and downgrade back to 1.5.

download this - http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/673 - its the devhook ultimate installer it will install all files to ur psp and create the ISO folder in the root of your memstick. Thats where ISO files go of course. Boot devhook go to umd select and choose the iso u wanna play. Press O over start on the main devhook screen and it will boot the emulated firmware and the iso of your choice. Make sure you have a UMD GAME in also. It needs the UMD to mount the iso image.

If you're installing emulators or someother homebrew they go in the GAME folder which is located inside of PSP. After you put the homebrew there you will see them when you go to GAME and Then MEMORY STICK in the XMB on your psp.

thanks ok now i got how the homebrew games work so i would need an emulator for them to work or that what im getting. and the iso i would put in that floder is that what most people want the 1.5 for. will I know if there iso or for homebrewing.

emulators = homebrew.
emulators emulate certain console and allow to play say SNES games on ur psp.
ROM = console game for emulation
Google romhustler to find a site for roms.
As for 1.5 and iso's. Yes thats the main reason (in my opinion) why people want one. You are able to play psp backups. PSP backups are known as iso files and go in the iso folder. Devhook emulates newer firmwares ,2.71, allowing for the user to play newer firmware requiring psp games. Devhook doubles as a firmware emulator/game loader.

ok so if it acts as an emulator and game loader then i dont need to find emulators. I went to that link and it asked for the root file and when my psp is in usb mode its g and thats what i pick but it said do i want to creat one and i said yes and it said not vaild. what am i supposed to put in here. i have been reading the posted so I not just asking for help to take the easy way out and i have watch some videos too.

when i say emulator im talkin about say a SNES emulator to play SNES games on ur psp. Devhook is a firmware emulator. Yes theyre both emulators but they emulate 2 totally different things. Make sure your psp is mounted as G when using the devhook ultimate installer. After I hook my psp up I always hit F5 to refresh the drive list in windows explorer. I have an external HDD, ipod, another mp3 player, 2 psp's, So the drive letters are constantly changing on me.

I got it now its acts like it still say a 2.6 or 2.7 so i can run games. Im going to read about it some more. I checked the which port my psps is hooked up to and it Removable Disk (G:) and it say that does not work. I did get to work for a file but that was for the desktop and i did not want that so i did not run it. is there a speical root name that it should be sotred in?
