CONTEXT:
-ripped DVD to HDD using AnyDVD + DVD Decrypter, then tried to encode it to AVI using 1Click DVD Ripper and XviDcodec.
PROBLEM:
-after 03:22 minutes instead of going forward ripper "jumps" back 10 seconds and appends again frames from 03:10 to 03:22, then goes on with rest of movie
-same problem occurs several times up to the end of the movie, in 3-4 places some sequences of 10-20 seconds are just repeated
RESULT:
-film is fucked up and the last one minute or so is missing (final AVI file has the same length as original film, but due to this weird repeats last minute is cut)
It really pisses me off so any help (or even link to solution, if already there) would be welcome.
I had the same problem with that piece of junk. try to use autogk, even with the XviDcodec it works great. but it takes about 3 hours more than the one you're talking about. but the quality is better.
But you have to use DVD Decrypter + AnyDVD, the program you tried using can rip directly from the DVD.
Thanx for the tip. I was also considering regenerating the IFO files based on the existing VOB ones, then trying with these new ones.
I'll check it out.
After doing some research on the net I found out that one way to fix this is to rip the DVD in IFO mode (not FILE mode); also some IFO rebuilding might be necessary.
As soon as I have a solution I will post it just in case anyone is interested.
P.S. And yes, it is the infamous Matrix DVD (region 2).
if you ripped it to the hard drive using AnyDVD and DVDDecrypter.... why would you want it to AVI file format? Or do you mean to DVD Compliant files (VOBs) so you can burn to DVD? Isn't 1ClickDVD a transcoder like Shrink to make the DVD files smaller to fit onto a DVD5? I'm getting confused on what you did and why?
What I am doing is rip DVDs to AVI files to gain space while preserving decent quality (so that I can fit 3-4 AVI films on a regular 4.7GB DVD)
I backup first the DVDs to HDD because ripping them directly seems like overkill for my DVD drive. The next step involves converting the 7-8 GB HDD DVD image to 1-2 GB AVI file using XviDcodec and 1Click DVD Ripper.
Now correct me if I am wrong: I have been using 1Click DVD Ripper for some time and from what I have seen it's nothing like Shrink - while Shrink generates a full DVD structure but of smaller size (with VIDEO_TS folder etc.), 1Click DVD Ripper only ouputs .MPG files (VCD/SVCD) or .AVI (DivX, XviD, etc.) This program could also be used to fit your films on an old-style 700MB CD-ROM but with dramatic loss of quality.
