Hi everybody, this is my first post with a question but I'll try to contibute wherever possible. I've also tried searching this forum for my problem but no luck yet.

I recently downgraded from 2.71 to 1.5 firmware on my PSP. This was all well and good until I realised shortly after buying Liberty city stories on UMD that I'd need new firmware.

I downloaded Devhook 0.45 and set it all up properly with all the dumps and other files but when I go to start "Homebrew for FW2.xx+devhook" it says "To start you must update the system software" and doesnt allow me to go any further. I know a lot of people have this problem when they start up their PSP but I can't even start up devhook in the first place.

I've looked everywhere but no luck yet (so many conflicting instructions for homebrew software). Does anyone have any ideas on what I could do to resolve this problem?

Thanks,

Reakt.

I was hoping to avoid 0.46 due to the fact that it writes to the flash (I've had too many close calls involving almost bricking my PSP recently). However I'll try it, wish me luck.

Hmm I tried to find a way to edit my post to avoid double posting but it seems it's not possible.

Anyway I did it and it worked, I'm now on 2.71.

Thanks a lot for the help,

Right above your post there should be a date, do to the far upper-right corner you'll see a pencil and paper kind of picture, click on that, wait for the page to load and edit your post.
