I am interested in burning PS2 games.

These are the few things I need to know:
Do I need to install a modchip? If so, what brand, and were is the best place in the US to buy one from?
Is it considered Piracy to download PS2 games for other Websites?

You could either install a modchip or buy special boot disks called 'Swap Magic'.And yes,it is considered piracy downloading PS2 games

But is it considered piracy if you have the game, maybee its badly scratched and the pc or ps2 wont read it, then downloading would be ok rite? im not sure.

Technically, copying anything, whether you own it or not, is considered piracy & breach of copyright.

actually - if you have bought the game and you need to download it for whatever reason either if it is scratched, lost, or u just wanna keep a back up just in case then this is completely legal. if this was illegal dont u think the government and sub organisations would close down p2p and similiar file sharers completely as this is what is mostly being up/downloaded, the only thing is that they cant find out if we actually have brought the game or not so they just have to 'assume' we have, this is the loophole that many pirates use to get games allot cheaper than having to pay for them
