i cant burn all types of video it says cus some patent crap i could ony do mpeg3 or AVI or sumthin. is there some codecs i gotta download or do you guys know of another program i could use? i dont have a dvd burner i been burnin to VCD my pornz.
What are you trying to back up? A DVD movie? A File? What do you mean by patents? If you're unable to rip a newer movie to HDD, then you would need something to remove the newer encryptions. We need more info!
well i been tryin to burn up a bunch diff type of files to VCD so i can watch in my dvd player, it ony lets me burn stuff that wmp can detect cus it shows the wmp icon for the file.
anything that u need to watch with like vlc media player it wont let me burn, or irfanview files either, it says because of patent restrictions u have to buy Nero online or some crap, so can u recomend a better program that can burn everything of movie files or anything that u dont need a dvd drive for?
Calimack i would personaly upgrade.DVD writers are as cheap as chips these days & most work well from my experiance which isnt much but if it helps.Nero & Winavi are must haves in my opinion there worth the money cause they give great results.Winavi has great converting properties & is real easy to use.
You sounds like you need different codecs. You could use GSpot to identify the codecs used by AVI files, but some people would rather just install a codec pack like the K-Lite Mega codec Pack. Some people say codec packs f-up your machine but I have never had problems on numerous installations, and I install almost everything (I don't advise that though - install only the defaults). You still need to buy Nero unless you want to do things the *REALLY* hard way.
-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.
