As I asked in this almost non-active thread (http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/6/379715)

Is there any way to play ALL iso's that are playable these days without the need of a UMD in the UMD drive?! I ask since my UMD drive does not work. Not to mention, I am stuck on firmware 1.50 and I can't upgrade or downgrade! But who cares, 1.5 is all I need since I can emulate firmwares. My PSP works flawlessly, xept that the UMD drive doesnt work and the psp wont upgrade/downgrade firmwares. Some help into getting playing iso's without a umd in the umd drive would be greatly appreciated.

No way of playing w/o a UMD in the drive.

buy a replacement UMD Drive. simplest solution.

Don't some versions of devhook allow you to play without a UMD ?

yes they do but i think its only for 1.5 games so i would get it replaced
