ok, so from what i gathered so far, ookm is still working on a permanent downgrader so he doesn't want people to upgrade to 2.71.
but there is this hen thing out which requires you to upgrade it to 2.71 but it's unstable and crashes often?
so what should i do? i can't decide.
wait longer for ookm to complete his downgrader or just try this unstable hen thing that's recently out? help me plz

he has called off the downgrade for the ta.082 psp because of someone attempting hack his email account and bashing him. and the downgrade he was working on was 2.5 ta-082 psps anyhow. your best bet will be hen because then u can emulate 1.5.

no it doesnt crash randomly and its not unstable. the exploit that runs it is unstable and that basically means it doesnt execute every time around so it might take a few attempts before the exploit actually executes and runs the homebrew enabler.

hen_c works alot better than the previous version... mine works like 5/6 times...and once it's loaded u don't have to worry until u turn off your psp...
plus u can always downgrade ur psp to 2.5 if u really want to~
for ta-082, u can go from 2.5-2.71~
Own... PSP FW: 2.6

I'm in the same position as sssilver and im a little woried that if i update to 2.71 for hen_c, i wont be able to take advantage of future 2.6 ta-082 downgraders. I was a little relieved to find out that there are downgraders and upgraders for any fw between 2.5 and 2.71 but i dont know where to find em. can any1 help?

i did update to 2.71 and tried hen c.
works great.
i can also boot into fw 1.5.
games i tried so far are : loco roco, bleach 3, wipeout pure, lumines, megaman powered up, nfs most wanted, tekken dark resurrection, and ultimate ghost and goblin... all of them work flawlessly.

From what I have been reading, 2.71 is being worked on as the way forward. Somethings such as gpSP have been ported to work straight with a 2.71henC and I am sure most new homebrew will probably do the same. I am not in a possition to give advice but generally I think alot of people are upgrading to 2.71 and running devhook for 2.71 (the most important port so far) to emulate 1.5 if it needs to. I personally feel a lot safer doing a henc than a downgrader hence my reason for choosing it and yes it did go wrong but was easily fixed.
Has anyone bricked one yet?
tested monkeyball adventures and mercury, no problems at all.
