limewire is being sued by RIAA and MPAA, id lay off using it, especailly for movies or warez.

for the most part, fewer people are using it, thus there's less stuff being shared. bit torrent is the way to go.

Most new films are hard to get on limewire anyway because people are always uploading fakes thats why people prefer to use torrents because there is more information and people can say if its fake or not. :)

Sorry BIGnewb but:

1: Frostwire and Limewire are the same thing just Frostwire is the newer one they are working on.

And

2: Torrent programs are still P2P just done differently

sorry but it has to be said :)

it doesn't matter what you use there is only so many because people prefer certain programs than other programs if you want something that is similar to limewire then use frostwire its the same lay-out but its whatever program you prefer.

We can't tell you which one you will like your better off going to google typing "best p2p"

Here i have done it for you :)

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=b...le+Search&meta=

Now look at what is said to be best, download them and try them and see which one you prefer :)

lots of people prefer ed2k, but i would listen to rickster and lay off the p2p, they are all getting sued and watched by the RIAA and MPAA...

seems we are being stopped from doing everything nowadays lol maybe i should start a thread on it in safety valve??? lol

I wish someone would come on the news and say tony blair has been found to be downloading movies through p2p programs lol that would be really funny.

Btw for all the people that are using p2p still it is always best to use protection :)

Never Ever download anything without a program such as peerguardian 2, Its not 100% guaranteed but it helps i have had it block antip2p people from taking my i.p address and i fully recommend it for any user of p2p.

But as people keep saying it is becoming a big issue for hollywood and now they want to crack down on piracy so us poor people still have to buy films to see if they are any good lol Even though piracy will never stop even if they make it illegal to own a pc :) Which i can't see happening lol

If you would like a copy of peerguardian 2 then you can download it here:

http://www.techspot.com/downloads/328-peer-guardian.html

(i was unable to get the main page to load so i used an alternate site)

All you need to do is click download and choose a mirror

But remember you may be protected but the condom can always split if you get my drift :)

Smaller p2p groups (I'm thinking Ares) are NOT targeted by the MIAA...therefore, you're safer downloading movies or warez there... plus , since the network is so small, fakes and adbots don't cause a problem like they do in Lime. Due to the small population of the network, there are also fewer files...but if that's the price to pay for not being tracked by the MIAA, I don't mind. Plus, Ares is open source... which is always a plus in my book.

I wouldn't trust a program like peerguardian. That's just me. All of the stuff below may seem over-the-top...but when the next guy who used peerguardian instead is fined $1.2 million and I'm home free, I won't be complaining. So here's my p2p condom:

Have a firewall.

Before starting your p2p software, have it stealth (block from view) your IP address and PC information. This way, tracking services cannot steal your information and use it to track/find you.

Block all uploads. I know that this goes against the p2p philosophy, but if you'd rather have someone tracking your illegal downloads, feel free not to.

Make it watch for other PCs trying to connect to yours- and block them all.

Scan all downloads from p2p with a virus scanner, an adware scanner, and a spyware scanner.

If you download any software, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you allow it to access the internet. If it tries to and shouldn't, get rid of it- it's probably a trojan horse.

Brilliant!

Excuse me, but how are getting the files if you arent connecting to anyone or let anyone connect to you? plus, if you downlaod something from someone who happens to be MPAA or associates, your "condom" will jsut break...
