OMFG! For all you 2.71/1.5 owners!! Have a look at this!
From PSP-Hacks:
This is going to blow your mind? Dark_AleX has released what he calls FW 2.71 Special Edition (SE). What is it and what?s so special about it? 2.71 SE Revision A is a custom firmware that enables the best of both worlds; combining both the functionality of FW 1.50 and 2.71 into a single flash.
Note: TA-082 users cannot use this because a 1.50 bootstrap is needed to boot the system patched.

Some of you maybe having to hard reset out of DEVHOOK46, the tip i have is simple, just place ESCAPE DEVHOOK FROM 2,XX into the GAME folder not GAME150 so you can select it from the emulated 2.71 firmware. ;P

After reading about it on qj, apparantly with this custom firmware, it has all features of 1.5 AND 2.71. So I'm guessing that you don't even need devhook to play new games anymore. I'm really wishing I had a different mobo right now. -_-

when i put the 2.7 or 1.5 eboot in the seupmaker it wants to replace the one in thier already. Do i rename these or somthing it says this cuz of same names

I have a few questions? How is this any better then Devhook really? Like if you need to play ISO's wouldnt devhook be the much simple method? I don't really know much about this custom FW but does it let you play Homebrew while your own 2.71 like snes emu? or does it give you the extra features on 1.50 that the 2.71 offers? Or it this only for people that can't downgrade :S Sorry its been a while since I've looking into all the new FW and downgraders around, any info would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking if this has better benefits to go and get it myself.

This has all the same features as a V1.50.
Once upgraded to the new firmware all you have to do is rename the GAME folder to GAME150, then create another one beside it called GAME, simple, this saves you having to transfer everything.
Ave done it and am well pleased with it, anything ave gone to run on it works. ;)

so basically its 1.50 but has 2.71 features? What if you want to load Iso's? Then wouldn't you still need Devhook? I think I'm still confused as to how its more convienient?

hey i just Upgraded to the 2.71-A Fw and i feel it aint better than the Harley G Fw I feel its complicated Even after disabling the Corrupt icons they show up and the most important of all i cant understand how to use Devhook and play isos.If anyone answers the help will be greatly apreeciated.

Its better to have two folders then having to use Devhook to emulate a firmware every time you want to do something on another firmware..

Just run devhook as normal, theres no change in the way it works.
