SAVING JPEG WITH MY DVD R/RW ROM IN NERO / PROBLEMS / PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!!

Hello,
I'm using Nero 6, and today I've tried to save jpeg images with Nero 6, with a normal blank cd in my dvd r/rw rom. After I've selected from Nero, 'make data disc', I have added the jpeg files in the box and pressed burn, but the files did not save on my blank cd in my dvd r/rw rom. What has happened?. When in the same dvd r/rw rom I have inserted a cd/rw blank, the files saved normally, but nothing happens with a normal blank cd. Please note that this is happenning only in my dvd r/rw rom. Can you tell me please; "With a dvd r/rw rom, you cannot save jpeg images on a normal cd in Nero, or there is something wrong, can you please and kindly tell me what to do?"
