I'm having difficulty backing up my "Art School Confidential"

It gets about 2/3 of the way through then chokes on the CSS cracking of VTS_1_06 and in doing so causes havok with my computer.

I've tried the following:
DVD Decrypter
PGC Edit
RipIt4Me (updated version - note this was much slower for some reason)
DVD Fab Decrypter

All have the same problem - clean, new disc, no skipping issues just this CSS problem. Any ideas? (note: can't afford paid ripping software so AnyDVD etc are out)

nvm, it seems attempting with DVD Decrypter screwed up my system for when I tried DVD Fab Decrypter. After rebooting and trying again with Fab it worked perfectly, droping the VTS_1_06 entirely.
