Hello all,

First, i have never came across a DVD that VobBlanker wouldn't work correctly on until today. The movie i am doing is Click, and i have ripped it to my HDD using DVDFab and that was fine.

Now when i used VobBlanker i tried not Blanking anything, i tried blanking a few trailers and fbi warnings, and everytime i processed the dvd it would have warnings at the end of log, those warnings where something like this, NO NAVS FOUND: outputing Blank cell
MY question is
if anybody knew what that error meant, and anybody else using VobBlanker for this movie was it happening to u too?

BTW i did make a perfect backup using FixVTS instead of VobBlanker with recode and ImgBurn

@300bowler

CLICK was the toughest one here, speaking of protections/encryptions. It has the latest Sony ARccOS, Puppetlock, plus tons and tons of fake/bogus cells on VTS_01 and others.

I may be wrong, but I believe the reason CLICK's throwing up a spit via VobBlanker is because both DVDFAB Decrypter and VobBlanker needs an updated. There were some really nasty tiny cells (protections) on VTS 01 (which is the movie) that DVDFAB couldn't get rid of completely, therefore VobBlanker is having a glitch. So until either VobBlanker or DVDFAB come up with a new version, things just look a bit dirty here.

To solve the problem, you have 2 choices:

** rip it with the latest DVDFAB Decrypter and continue on with DVD Shrink or Nero Recode. It seems to be ok, but I'm not 100% sure because it looks like some of those nasty cells are still within the movie.

** simply use RipIt4Me

For this movie (CLICK), I did it 2 ways; yes a FULL DISC "movie + extras" only, no useless Trailers, no advertising, no FBI warnings:

(A) DVDFAB to rip (at roughly 16 - 17 minutes), then have Recode to transcode, burned with Nero Burning Rom. Seems ok, but have not sit through and watch everything from beginning to end. So I can't confirm anything yet.

(B) rip it via RipIt4Me (seems pretty long due to the heavy protections, at roughly 20 - 22 minutes), have VobBlanker blank out all FBI Warnings, Trailers and any left over tiny cells or pgcs. Transcoded with Nero Recode, then burned with Nero Burning Rom. Backup came out perfectly, no flaws.

i have a fail proof method, here it is.

Ripit4me(decrypter and fixvts)make sure you have the obtion to run the files thru fixvts checked, very important. clonedvd2, in double layer mode has become my vobblanker(faster and it is like a second fixvts)then i use either Recode2 or RB-pro to compress.

there is no way this will fail.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

You can also blank VTS's with PgcEdit. Or you can use the Kill Playback function. Then run the files through FixVTS.

99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

@300boowler
i also had the same exact problem when i tried to run click through VobBlanker. i ripped with dvdfab 3.0.1.2 which version did yiu rip with? after i tried to run it through several times, and scratching my head awhile, i remembered i had kept dvdfab version 2.9.8.3 (the last one before they completely changed everything.) for some reason when the first version came out when they changed it all, i thought to myself that i should keep 2.9.8.3 for awhile, just in case. well 2.9.8.3 worked perfectly on click. no problems, hopefully the next update of dvdfab they will have this problem worked out.

For VobBlanker users, this is the only method that I've found that it worked. It just needs some tweaking around that's all, yet CLICK is definitely a pain in the @ss. I suggest to leave the "settings" just like that for now cause SONY is getting smarter, tougher and nastier. Or the other way around is simply use "RipIt4Me".

I did some "tweaking" through VobBlanker and I think it solved the problem. Look at picture below for reference. Just for the fun of it, I tried to rip and backup another one (3rd backup) just to see what's up with CLICK, ripped it with DVDFAB Decrypter 3.0.2.5 (it's latest version) + VobBlanker and it seems ok . I know CLICK is one nasty dvd with tons of protections and corrupted cells.

This time, I have VobBlanker blank out all Extras, FBI Warnings and all Trailers. You'll still see the "Warnings: No Navs found", yet it was a success afterall. I have Nero Recode take out all the other "audio", except the 5.1 English Dolby Digital, it transcoded and went smoothly. Finally burned with Nero Burning Rom, backup came out perfect and flawless.

By the way, did I mentioned that it's quality is awesome, yes... it's 96.7% on the Video, meaning it's only 3.3% that needed to be transcoded only.

Best of luck to all and enjoy your backup to the fullest.

i just dl the newest version also, haven't had a chance to try it yet. let's hope it has some fixes.
on another note has anyone else noticed that since dvdfab has changed that the link to the website has changed also? it was DVDIdle.com on the older versions and now it is dvdfab.com. no big deal, it just urked me a little.
i mean on the newer versions you can't just hit the little button in the program to see if there is an update. if you go to that dvdfab.com onthe newer versions there is no link to the "free stuff" page that is in the DVDIdle.com page that was in the older versions.
oh well, sorry to ramble on. just kinda wondered if anyone else noticed.
