I am interested in buying the Samsung L-200 portable DVD player. It claims to play dvd-r format, but i can not get it to play any of my dvd-R disks. i use a pioneer a05 burner and dvd x copy software. should i be using a certain blank media? does the disk have to be finalized after the burn and if it does how do you finalize the disk?

It does have to be finialised. It also has to be burned in a folder called VIDEO_TS. Download the free full 30 day trial of record now max from the link in the website i give. Then use the user guide also provided to burn your discs. Try to use good media like Ritek G04,s from http://www.dvd-and-media.com in UK.

I use ritek's and they always work for movies but it sounds liek your problem is the multisession if you are using Nero in the multisession tab you want to check no multisession and in the burn tab you wnat to check the box that says finnalize cd no further wrighting
