This is just a general question. If I want to convert let's say a 128kbps mp3 to 320kbps, does it lose any quality? I heard the larger the bitrate the better the quality.

The fact that you are Reencoding the file is why you are losing quality. You always want to try avoiding the reencoding process. You can never improve the quality by reencoding to a higher bitrate. When you compress a file, you are taking information out of the original file to get a smaller file. You can never regain that info. Hope this explains it a little bit for ya.
