2.71 custom firmware and umd emulators

I just upgraded to dark alex 2.71 firmware, but I just have a dumb question, since is a 2.71 can I just emulate a umd and run it directly without using devhook?

yes, but if the UMD needs a version that is higher then 1.5 then you must emulated Devhook.

i think you cant emualte without an 'emulater' such as devhook

Well the devhook 46 that comes with dark alex 2.71 se works with most ISO I have tried so far, but 2.71 SE will show UMD emulator as a corupted file.
