hiya folks my psp does not read discs no more and im 99% sure is sumething to do with the firmwere is there any patchs available to get this thing working

If it doesnt read disks is it not something to do with the laser lol :)

ive tryed several new lasers in it but nothing and if i put one off theses lasers in another machine they work

well if you think its the firmware why dont you upgrade to a higher firmware then downgrade again to get a clean 1.5 ?? :)

how 2.81 upgrade to a downgradeable firmware lol or use the version changer to make your psp think it is a 1.00 and run the 1.50 eboot i didnt think this was possible till i seen a thread that hex had posted on :)

well it might not fix it because it could be the motherboard or the cable wasnt plugged in properly. if u downgraded from 2.71 and are having problems reading umds and are on 1.5 then i would a version changer and rerun the 1.5 update eboot or upgrade to 2.0 and then downgrade from that.

if ur on 2.81 yes. but who knows it could be becuase the cables arent plugged in properly. theres one that actually transmits the data and one that powers the motor for spinning the umd.

I downgraded from 2.71 and my laser packed up but i fixed it. Is there a chance of the laser breaking again or should i upgrade to 2.00 and downgrade back? I dont really wont to downgrade again if it has a higher chance of braaking the laser again.
