Hi all,

The title says it all. I am just starting into the realm of dvd burning and have run into a brick wall. While trying to burn a dvd of a Pokemon movie ( i Have a 4 year old ) I get the message "Due to patent license restrictions, MPEG-4 encoding is not available".

I have 1gig of ram, a 256mb video card and Nero express6. Any help would be great.

Are you trying to copy a dvd or burn from dvd video files downloaded from the net? Anyway, either way it sounds like the copy protection on the dvd disc is not letting you copy/burn the data. I don't really know afterdawns policy on this information (as it can amount to piracy) but aslong as you own the original dvd it's alright to make a back up copy so you dont damage your original disc. A tool such as DVD43 will let you circumvent the copy protection (most types anyway) and then copy or burn the data on the disc/folders onto a blank disc or onto your hard drive. This software is only used to decrypt the dvd and not to burn a disc, to do that you just use your regular burning software, aslong as DVD43 is running (you should see the happy face icon in the task bar) then it should work and you should not recieve the error. Decypters such as DVD43 do not work with all software however so make sure it works with what you are using, it's available from www.dvd43.com just choose one of the download sites on that page to begin downloading the latest version. You must have the original to do this legally.

ok...... LDee is correct! to make a copy of a DVD you'll need software to stop the encryption on the DVD to prevent copying. DVD43 is a wannabee AnyDVD! download a 21 day free trial of AnyDVD and CloneDVD2! it's fast easy and will burn anything out there! you'll be glad you did. And after the 21 days it's a great investment to buy! the programs are always updated and you'll be able to do ALL the DVDs:
