I'm going to be doing a clean install of XP on my machine soon but that means I'm going to lose my lovely share ratio when I eventually re-install Azureus.
I guess this is only important should I decide to try and join a private tracker, but is there any way that I can retain my share ratio and all my stats on a fresh install of Azureus...or am I simply doomed to build it all up again from scratch?
when you join a private tracker, you are going to start from a 0/0 share ratio on their tracker, so it really doesnt matter what your Azureus share ratio is.
To answer your question, i'd say it's not possible. Just like removing a torrent and then re-seeding it, ratio is always reset to 0.0 , and i'd be damned if i knew what registry key in Azureus was responsible for your ratio watch...
As long as you are using the same tracker, IT will retain your share ratios for you. They might not show up in Azureus, but that is of no importance.
Not to mention that what josh2022 said is right, so it wouldn't hurt you in any way, and if you where to join a private site, they would keep track of your ratio for you as well.
actually, the share ratio in Azureus is created dynamically from a fairly simple operation. You must be seeding things for a LONG time if it says the same for you, normally it restarts whenever you restart azu. All it does is give you an idea what your share is and use that info to decide when to stop sharing on its own if you've got other things queued.
It's invisible to the tracker, which is where it's important to have the ratio--that's all transmitted in the conversation between the client and the tracker.
In other news, no, it's not really possible to export settings from Azureus and import them elsewhere, unfortunately.
