well Ive set up the router and what not and it worked fine until recently it kept dropping the DSL modem it was connected to, so I would have to reset everything and what not to reget the signal in my room. I took of the linksys one and put back on my old microsoft 11mbps router and i get the same thing. the DSL modem i think is resetting so its resetting the wireless router so i got to unplug both and replug in one then the other to get signal back in my room. I get great signal so i know its not that so any help or similare problems let me know k thanx!!

I RIP EM AN LEAVE EM LOL

Try a new modem or having your connection looked at. May be the signal is flaky.

One very common problem is that, as ISP's upgrade their networks to faster speeds, existing equipment can't keep up. This is especially a problem with Linksys and Netgear. What's happening is they simply aren't designed to handle the speeds (or, really, saturation) that modern cable/dsl networks provide. Meaning you have to buy a new router. Fortunately, D-Link is one of the better makers out there, which is why I suspect it might be your modem or connection. Fortunately, your ISP should be able to send somebody out to look at line problems, and maybe give you a new modem.

-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.

i used to have bellsouth dsl and what a nightmare it was, my connection got dropped all the time (especialy if it rained you could count on it) and if i remember correctly it was because i was to far away from the main box or whatever its called, i would have them send the tech out to test your line, and just fyi i switched to cable and havent had a disconnection in all the years ive had it...and my speed is always consistent.

Oh, yeah, I know about Bellsouth...probably the worse telco in U.S. history.
