just how i think of it, it dosnt really burn out. essentially, the torrent works for about a hour max, than my internet goes out. if i go downstairs and unplug/replug my modem and router, it works fine again, but its annoying if say, i wanna leave it on all night. any ideas how to fix?

probably just amplifying a problem you already have. Since the bandwidth usages is much higher then any other application that you are most likely using.

The answer is here:

The large number of connections are crashing your router firmware--I've been having a big problem with this too recently.

Limit your max global connections under 150 and max outbound attempts to 4 or under and you should be better...I have been.
