hiya my connector snap of my mother board

so what i have done is to solder 2 wires to the mother where the connector came from 1 at 1 end the other the other end.

my question is do i have to solder the wires to the connetor or can they be just soldered to the baclight ribbon ???????

i had the same problem when i changed my psp screen i found out that i didn't need to solder anything as i bent the little connecters down to touch the ribon and then used the tiny clip and abit of tape to keep it in place

ps i'm shit at soldering so this is a noob fix but it does work a treat

oh right did ur connector come straight off or was there a bit left on the mainboard ???

my probs is the is nowt there apart from the 4 solder points where the connector was

oh so the whole connecter came off for you! right for me it was the little black clip on top of it. is there no way you can solder connecter back on to the wires you have put on? as for the ribon if you look it has 4 parts to it so you'll have to solder the 2 wires where they are needed must be 2 in and 2 out but have a look at the connecter to see which is which

cheers flightx much appreciatd so if i solder 1 wire to the left 2 solder points on mother board and another to the right side then to the back light this should work ?

i can't see why not just remember to check which way the connecter splits them into 4 so you know the way it needs to be soldered to the ribon but if i was you i'd try soldering the wires to the connecter so you dont have to mess about with spliting them for the backlight and also god forbid you need to change the screen again you wont have to unsolder the ribon and resolder the new one back in place

How do u break a connecter, because im about to replace my screen so i need some tips!
