Looking to buy a new notebook, my 3 year old vaio (That came with nothing) has seen better days. Now for my price range on notebooks i see things like S-video and RGB ports. A TV tuner??? Isn't an RGB wire to hook up to a HDTV? What technology on these computers can help me with my conventional tv? What can windows media do that windows professional can't. I mean im not some clueless person when it comes to computers but i have just been trying to upgrade my POS. so any knowledge on these topics would be great. Thanks!

Well there are others, but it also depends on what you want to spend.

Yea He_Man the p100 or 105 was actually one of a couple i was looking at.
With these ports would i be able to use my notebook as a Dvd player for my tv then?

lol ... I don't think that should be a factor in why you would get a notebook. IMO some of the best dvd players out there are on $15.

well not for that direct purpose of course. i already have 3 for my tv already. more of an informational question. I guess what i really want to know is connectivity to tvs. Theres so many different types of inputs and ports. But ok... heres a better question I know for a fact im getting 'location free' for my b-day coming up. its similar to slingbox but it has more a/v imputs and it can't record tv. Say im out of town and my hotel tv has an s-video or RBG input then would i be able to watch my 200+ channels on this tv by connecting by notebook to it or no?
