Partial Render Failure In GSpot

After I run my avi through GSpot I have the following error. Can anyone help me:
Directshow was unable to render this file.
Following is the error reported:
0x00040242: VFW_S_PARTIAL_RENDER -Some of the streams in this movie are in an usupported format.

I have installed the AC3 codec, the video is fine, but there is no sound.

Try using TMPGEnc to run your avi files through and multiplex the sound
