Hi,
I live in the UK and all of my equipment is PAL, including a Panasonic dvd recorder.
I have several video tapes in NTSC, which play on my equipment.
I would, however, like to transfer these to dvd.
Is it possible to create a NTSC recording from the tapes in any way ?

You will have to set up the capturing program to capture in NTSC format. But it really does not matter if you capture it in NTSC format or PAL format. So that really should not be a worry for you when transfering to either or if your equpiment will read both formats.

Thankyou for your reply.
What I was unsure about was the signal coming out of the my British vcr machine. Is it a true NTSC signal or is it PAL 60 ???
I have two vcrs, one Sony, one Panasonic.
I do not have a capture card in my pc, but a standalone Panasonic dvd recorder.

If you where plaining on connecting your VHS (NTSC)Machine to your standalone recorder you might have trouble with the copyprotection from the VHS tape if these are comercial VHS movies plus your recorder might not bebale to handle the NTSC format.

It would be so much easier to have a capturing card to do this.

Maybe somone else will come along that can give you a few more idea's on this question.
