hi iv just started using Azureus and am new to torrents, i have so far started downloading 14 files 6 are complete and in the bottom box with their status stating seeding but i still have a bad share ratio of 0.364, am i missing something, how do i remedy my little problem because i am sure i am being ignored by alot of people because of my poor share ratio.
i searched around online for guides that might help me but couldnt find anything that would explain what is going on (that i could understand) the one peice of info i did understand was someone elses similar question in a forum, a member answered leave Azureus connected all the time and when your download completes it will begin seeding and your share ratio will rise, well they are seeding but my ratio isnt going up.
Leave your client uploading when your out or whenever, you'll get there, maybe you should have downloaded a 1/4, then stop downloading and upload a 1/4, then do the rest like so, that way you can give as much as you take.
Good luck, you could help the tracker by seeding for them something on there that you have already (from somewhere else) or upload your own torrents, other than that just seed, seed, seed and your ratio will be OK.
okay in the time since i posted my first msg my share ratio has rased to 0.369 (man its gonna be along time before i get to a ratio of 1:1) damn i just though maybe i will never get there 0.005 in 3 and a half hours,
i did add 2 files from my hard drive to the shares but the little face on both has stayed gray and both say queued so i guess i did it wrong that or no one wants my files. to share them i clicked file->share->file then selected the file, is that right,
i downloaded the patch but wasnt sure how to install it or what it is for excactly. thanks for your help so far rav009,
i feel a little bit like i did when i first started using winmx except with a program 100 times more complicated even on the beginner setting. im sure i will get there eventually thats if i dont get banned for the pitifull share ratio i have first.
oh and one more thing to add this is an example of one file i downloaded and am now seeding. below the seeds tab it says 0(299) and below the peers tab it says 7(294) below the share ratio tab for that file it says 0.513, does that sound right the way it should when it is seeding correctly.
When you want to share a file, you have to go to the site you use to download torerents from and physically upload the torrent file you made.
This isn't like other P2P softwares where people can just connect to you.
