Ok,

I want a simple way to pop in a DVD from my collection into the computer. Rip it to the hard drive and then burn it ( I could care less if menu's are intact ) to 2 CD's in the SVCD format with fairly good audio ( stereo is fine ). Is the DVD copy from 321 studios a solid choice???

I prefer simple with very good results vs. difficult with slightly better results and I do not mind buying software if I can not find/try it with a bitTorrent version first.

I'm new to the forum and I hope I asked this correctly.

Am i right in saying you want to rip the DVD and put it on to SVCD format. Why not try and get a program that will convert to the new MVCD format, or does your DVD player not support it?
Im not a big fan of 321 studios, mainly because of the high prices. However, DVD Copy is a good piece of software.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I want to pop in a DVD movie and convert it / rip etc.. then make 2 SVCD's wich my Apex and Sony DVPNS725P DVD players will read.

So far I am thinking of 321's DVD Copy and another program called DVD 2 CDR from here:

As a newbie I'm looking for good interface and simple solutions.
