Hey guys, have a few qns here.
i am a noob in PSP, i have a '1.52' PSP. and i really wish i can do something that is much more useful and money saving stuff in tt set, u know what i mean.
-just wondering how to check whether my motherboard is a TA-028 as i read about a thread, it says that if it's a TA-028, it will have a higher chance of bricking the PSP while installing some programs.
-is there a chance for me not to upgrade and downgrade, pls try understand me as the freedom is pretty restricted here.
let's make this thread a useful and yet a free-from-block post, it will definitely help lots of noob and wanna-learn psp owner out there. i have been looking thru this forum for the past few weeks, many threads here were very misleading and deep, i hope to break down some stuffs for a better understanding. Appreciate all ur efforts!

Like we said check the "psp motheboard compatiblity" tread on the top of the sony psp general disccusion.
The only thing that does is if you downgrade past 2.50 it bricks. So if you have a TA-082 you need to run the henc off of 2.71 firmware.
EDIT-so yeah I didn't catch that first time, but since you have a 2.01 or below than you don't have a ta-082.

you dont have a ta-082. the earliest firmware a ta-082 can have is 2.5. You most definetly dont have one.

one thing worth pointing out here because things have changed that could potentialy catch a few n00bs (like me) out.
Henc and Devhook can make a PSP seem like a downgraded version. Just to be on the safe side do a hard reset, take the battery out if your not sure. Put it back in and then get the system info.
Chances are you will be right, but I get this feeling that one of these days someone is going to try to downgrade a ta-082 with HenC/Devhook because it is set to firmare 2.00 or something.
Actually you could always go up to 2.71 and do the HenC+Devhook thing anyway. Is it really safer or is it just me?
