When I try to rip a dvd to hard disc, its starts off well, but than about 3mins in to it everything becomes unknown! e.g time, speed, etc.

Is this because of the dvd css/cppm protection?????

Please can any1 HELP????

what is the DVD you are trying to rip. DVDDecrypter hasn't been updated in over a year now and you might need something to help it along.... try RipIt4Me.... it's free and uses DVDDecrypter, FixVTS, and Shrink to rip and burn! Just download the programs and follow the guide:

hi Ihoe, thanks for the reply! thanks to the links you gave me I successfuly completed a copy of the DaVinchiCode (my own use only).

I Have only recently become online but, have used dvdshrink for about six months. When I first started to use it, I used the automatic compression feature, but even after doing the deep analysis I was still not happy with the quality! so I decided to re-author the dvd and copy the main feature only, with out compression, therefore no loss of quality!! Is this the best way of doing it for good quality????

Even after using all these programs, I don't even know what VTS means or iso, ifo, etc (lol!) thanks again!!! :)

I do movie only, too, to keep the quality high. I use AnyDVD + CloneDVD2 because it's easy and does great job..... but if the quality of the movie goes below 80% (20% or higher compression) then I will use DVDRebuilder with CCE! that is an encoder..... not a transcoder.... what it does is take the DVD files and break them down into it's audio and video components and then encodes them back into a smaller size keeping quailty high because you are encoding from scratch using a quality encoder like CCE! Shrink, CloneDVD2 and other transocders can not compare to the quaility that DVDRebuilder does with CCE or Procoder2! It also takes much longer to process but the outcome is well worth the results!
