Alright lets get straight too it.I just bough tmy psp:( and its version 2.01.Ive alredy downloded a game off u torrent for it but i cant find a way to downgrade my psp to v. 1.5 and i heard something about using devhook.As u prob. figured im a noob to this stuff.Ill be happy to come on msn for an explanation.if anyone could write to me if this is possible.Could i upgrade and then download??I need to downgrade and then need help with where to put devhook and do i need anything??I dounloaded gun and it came as WinRAR files like GUN,1 .Gun,2.Gun,3.ect
plz help im desperate

to get to 1.5 u need to runt eh 2.01 downgrader which can be found at psp-hacks.com

im really bad at this stuff
a wuz jus looking at anotherthred it said i should just upgrade to 2.71 and then downgrade to 1.5 using Dark_Alex's 2.71 generic downgrader.Is this so? if not can u supply a link for me where i can downgrade

i think the 2.01 is safer but a lil bit trickier becuase you have to placxe the fiels yourselvs here is the linkhttp://www.psp-hacks.com/file/776

yep to u get devhook from psp-hacks and all u do is place your iso ot cso into the ISO fodler found int he root of the memoy stick!

the two devhook folders. devhook and devhook% go into I:/PSP/GAME/

iso's go into I:/ISO/ (u need to make that one)

DH folder goes I:/DH/

assuming your manually installing devhook, that's what u do. or just get one of the ultimate installers, and it'll do the work for you.

assuming u guys know what dark alex downgrader is im stuck on it.Where do i place the folders that are with the dark alex stuff.And i hv a version 1.5 EBOOT PBP file.But where do i put all this stuff??

when i open the dar alex thing theres a folder saying MS_ROOT In THiS theres a folder saying psp in that thares a foldr cald games in that thers a folder called update in that there are many files like E.Boot ect.I copied these to my psps update folder and disconnected my psp from pc then i go to game -memorystick and run the stuff it says-PSP UPDATE VERSION X.YZ I run it and it says -The game could not be started (80020148)

Wat is this wat did i do wrong???

you odnt put anything in the UPDATE folder you delete the fodler aswell! u need to get hold of devhook ultimate installer found at www.psp-hacks.com and hten you put your isos in the ISO fodler!

ur still at the downgrade point? there's a thread on this (stickied) at the top of the forum i believe, read that, and continue to post in here if that helps or doesn't help.

it didnt really help but look im using Dark_Alex's 2.71 generic downgrader.and in the read me it says

Instructions:
------------

- Copy the contents inside MS_ROOT to the root of your memstick.

- Get the EBOOT.PBP of the update you want to install, and copy it with the name of "UPDATE.PBP" to
/PSP/GAME/UPDATE

- Run the program.

And done.

listen if you wanna dowengrade from 2.71 use the EASY INSTALLER it will put all teh files in the righ tpaces simple you dont have to do anything!!!! your talking about update and stuff leave it!! just use the easy installer

i still cant connect to psp hacks man sorry but whn you there go into DOWNLOADS>FIRMWARE>UTILITIES adn then downgraders or somn itll be htere 2.71 easy installer!
