Hi. I bought a PSP (version 2.01) yesterday and there is absolutely nothing to do with it. Then I found out you can play roms and emulators on it. I was exited but then I found out that I can't play roms and emulators because of Sony's scam on any version above 2.00. I've read alot about downgrading and I was wondering if this was the real deal. Does this actually work? Can I make it so I can play roms on my PSP 2.01? If so, can someone please give me a VERY detailed walkthrough? I'm hopeless at this stuff and nothing makes much sense. And also is there a chance I will screw up my PSP by doing this?

ok mate 2.01, this is one of the most safest downgraders so if you follow everything EXACTLY you should be playing your roms and stuff very soon!

First off all format your memory stick

Restore to defualt settings

then take out umd

Now its time for the downgrader! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE OVER 70+BATTERY AND CONNECTED TO AC ADAPTER!

ok now downlod this: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/776 (thats the 2.01 downgrader!)

now you also need this eloader: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/758
ok now you have all the equipment

all you need now is a quide: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/754

if you follow everything word for word and use some logic then this will go smooth and nicely and youll love your psp
